A course in Japa and Mantra with Nico
Japa has been used in India for centuries to still and purify the mind, calm emotions, and to bring yogis into
the present moment. It is a common thread weaving through not just yoga, but many Indian philosophies and
religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. It’s available to us all.
Japa is the repitition of mantras in a meditative practice. It is a gentle yogic practice, and the onset of
winter is a perfect time to start a japa practice.
In this course, participants will learn and practice the basics of japa meditation, including the yoga philosophy
behind japa, the asanas, mantras, and how to handle their mala — everything to start a personal japa practice.
